Miscellaneous Info:

To provide the Royal Marines Artillery Anti-Aircraft Brigade with mobile firepower, the Pierce-Arrow Armored Anti-Aircraft Lorry (Truck) was designed and built on the American Pierce-Arrow 5 ton truck chassis.  The Pierce-Arrow chassis was selected because of the great service the lorries had already provided to the Royal Navy as cargo/utility lorries.  48 trucks were built, although it appears that no more than about 16 were ever in action at one time due to the limited availability of weaponry. The truck was so highly regarded, that it was also successfully used as the base for the later Royal Naval Air Service's Pierce-Arrow Armored Trucks. In addition, almost identical armored hulls were later fitted to Peerless Trucks, which were also used in the anti-aircraft role as the Peerless Armored Anti-Aircraft Truck.
