M151 Armored Mutt

Statistics

Country of Origin/Used by: USA
First Produced/Service Dates: 1970
Manufactured by: Base Vehicle: AM General; Armor: At First, Field Modifications by individual units.  Subsequently though, 2 kits were developed by the US Army.
Crew: 2-3
Armament: (1) M60 7.62mm LMG
Engine: 4 Cylinder Gasoline
Miscellaneous Info: Although, most base versions of the M151 series were eventually armored, the most numerous were the M151A1 and the M151A1C Recoilless Rifle Carrier (without the Recoilless Rifle).  The A1C chassis had been strengthened to carry the 106mm RR, so it was better able to handle the added weight of the armor which was added.
