| Miscellaneous Info: | The SAS patrol vehicle was based on the proven Land Rover Series II and IIA long wheel base (109 inch) chassis; although most were produced on the IIA. The Initial vehicles (Early 1960's) were developed by SAS and converted in REME workshops. (AKA "Pre-Pinkies"). However, subsequent conversions were completed by Marshalls of Cambridge. Although named the "Pink Panther", some vehicles were painted in the traditional green based/camouflage color. |
