Miscellaneous Info: The original three (3) variants in the Expanded Capacity Vehicle (ECV) series were built with a number of improvements to increase mobility and performance over the earlier HMMWV's. The most substantial improvements were a heavier chassis and suspension, uprated brakes, new cooling, exhaust and steering systems and a more powerful turbo-diesel engine. The vehicles in the ECV family are the 2-Door M1113 Utility Vehicle, 4-Door M1114 Uparmored Armament Carrier and US Air Force's M1116 Uparmored Armament Carrier HMMWV.
