The Centauro 2 Main Gun System is a follow up to the successful Centauro Tank Destroyer, although it is a totally different vehicle; and not an improved/upgraded version.  The Centauro 2 comes standard with a high-pressure 120/45mm main gun, although an optional 105/52mm (interchangeable to 120mm) is available. An autoloader system is fitted to the main gun, although it can be fired manually.  Reportedly the Italian  Army has decided to purchase 50 vehicles, but it is not fielded yet as of the writing of this index (February 2017).
