Armament:

(1) or (2) 5.56mm or 7.62mm machine guns

Engine: 6-Cylinder Water Cooled Diesel
Miscellaneous Info: Multiple versions and variants were produced, most notably the Mark 1, Mark 2 and Mark 2A APC's.  Mark 1 Vehicles were based on Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG chassis and some of the earlier versions also had Benz engines; subsequent vehicles fitted with Atlantis Diesel engines.  The Buffel Mark 2A/B APC's were rebuilds of Mark 1’s which added enclosed troop compartments, rear exit doors and large front/side bulletproof windows. Lastly, the difference between the Mark A and B vehicles was based on the brakes equipped; the A with drum brakes and the B with disc brakes.  Buffel means "Buffalo" in Afrikaans.
