Miscellaneous Info: In German, the Boxer is a called the Gepanzerte Transport-Kraftfahrzeug (GTK), which in English translates into Multirole Armoured Wheeled Vehicle. Originally, France, Germany and the UK were involved in the project, but France and the UK withdrew and Holland joined later.  The Boxer is designed/produced in modular form to allow for easy/quick changes depending on mission.  Variants can include APC, Ambulance, Engineering, Command, Driver Training, Mortar and Recovery Vehicles.  However, the only variants fielded currently are the Ambulance, APC (A0 & A1), Command (A0 & A1) and Driver Training vehicles.

The initial production vehicles are referred to as the Boxer A0 and the subsequently upgraded vehicles are referred to as A1.  The basic differences between those vehicles are that the A1's have upgraded mine/armor protection and a heightened remote weapons system so as to be more effective against closer targets.
