"Kubus" was built by the Polish Home Army during the Warsaw uprising of 1944.  Only one vehicle was built and it took only about 13 days to complete.  It was designed as an armored personnel carrier to be used during assaults. The Home Army armored  a 1938 Chevrolet Model 157 3-ton truck and mounted appropriated armor plating found throughout Warsaw.  Although, bravely serving during the uprising it was put out of action within a month. 

However, it survived the war, was refurbished and is exhibited at the Muzeum Wojska Polskiego - Warsaw (Museum of the Polish Army).  Also, a replica was built and is exhibited at the Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego (The Warsaw Uprising Museum)

The vehicle was named after the deceased wife of the chief engineer of the project. Her nom de guerre, "Kubus" translates to "Little Jacob". But most interestingly, "Kubus Puchatek" is the Polish name for the literary character "Winnie the Pooh".
